Mabel - Character Design

Mabel is here! 9/10 times you'll see her with a beautiful smile. :)

She REALLY is into sweets, as you can see... haha

... but it has slowly been causing her some problems! ouch!

When I started exploring Mabel, I was going for a more cliché direction at first, trying to make a literal "sweet girl". But I slowly gravitated towards using only a fruit motif on a more common child silhouette.

Here, I have started to further explore the "common girl" with a passion fruit motif look. I thought that playing with black spots, like the seeds, against yellow would look super cool in the design, so I kept playing with it everywhere!

After the first experiments, I further developed the "passion fruit" idea in my computer. I ended up choosing a path similar to the girl with a yellow coat and ponytails, I thought the silhouette looked very iconic and kinda reminded me of a flower.
